Meet Huai-Ti Lin

Huai Ti Lin Jump Gin Dance CompanyHuai-Ti grew up in Taipei, Taiwan, as a boy who always loved to move. From a very young age, he has been exposed to a variety of performing arts including Chinese traditional opera, theatre and ballet.  Huai-Ti also studied Chinese martial arts (Tai-Chi and Shaolin nunchacku) alongside Taekwondo in which he received black belt. He came to the United States for higher education at age 17 and received his Ph.D in Biology from Tufts University at age 24. He continued his scientific work at Harvard University as a postdoctoral fellow. During his years in Massachusetts, Huai-Ti picked up figure skating and trained at The Skating Club of Boston with a master-level coach, Thomas McGinnis. Concurrently, he also studied modern dance at The Dance Complex with Daniel McCusker, and ballet at The Boston Ballet School with Kristin Beckwith.  In 2011, Huai-Ti moved to Virginia for a research position at Howard Hughes Medical Institute and continued his dance training at BalletNova.  Huai-Ti joined Gin Dance Company in 2014.
