Ivy was born and raised in the Washington DC area. She was invited into the Graduate Program at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre (PBT) where she studied under Roberto Munoz, Dana Arey, Marianna Tcherkassky, Marjorie Grundvig, and Dennis Marshall. While with PBT, she performed in Terrence Orr’s The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty and understudied roles in Dracula and Madame Butterfly. Ivy received her degree from the Indiana University Jacob’s School of Music in Ballet Performance, where she studied under Violette Verdy, Michael Vernon, Jacques Cesbron, and Guoping Wang. While at Indiana University, she was featured in Isadora Duncan’s Many Faces of Love staged by Lori Belilove and performed leading roles in Michael Vernon’s The Nutcracker and Endless Night. Other highlights of her performance were the Swan Lake staged by Cynthia Gregory, Four Temperaments staged by Sandra Jennings; and Walpurgisnacht staged by Deborah Wingert. She was on the Pre-College Ballet faculty at Indiana University teaching classes for ages 3-18 and taught college ballet elective for undergraduate and graduate students. Additional training includes American Ballet Theatre, Ballet Chicago, International Summer Dance at Point Park University, Washington Ballet, Complexions, CityDance Ensemble, and Alonzo King LINES Ballet. Ivy is thrilled to be a member of Gin Dance Company and recently guested with Asanga Domask’s SerendibDance and S. J. Ewing & Dancers. Currently, she is an adjunct ballet faculty at American University, CityDance Operations and Production Manager and teaches for the CityDance school and Conservatory at Strathmore. Ivy joined Gin Dance Company in 2013.
