Katlyn is a dynamic and versatile dance artist with strong foundations in Modern, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Tap, and Acro. From an early age, Katlyn immersed herself in diverse styles, each shaping her into the well-rounded performer she is today. She pursued further training at Palomar College under the mentorship of Dr. Molly Faulkner, where she deepened her technical foundation and developed a profound appreciation for dance as both an art form and an academic discipline. This period of study provided her with the opportunity to refine her movement vocabulary and artistic expression, laying a solid foundation for her professional career. Katlyn earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Dance, graduating Summa Cum Laude from George Mason University, where she trained under esteemed faculty including Karen Reedy, Susan Shields, Shaun Boyle D’Arcy, Lawrence Jackson, and Christina Robson. Each mentor was pivotal in her development, pushing her to explore new movement vocabularies and challenge her creative instincts. Throughout her time at GMU, she deepened her role as an artistic collaborator, engaging fully with the choreographic work of Shaun Boyle D’Arcy and Christina Robson. She played an integral part in shaping their works through an investigative and responsive movement approach, contributing not just as a performer but as a creative voice within the process. Through this, she refined her ability to adapt, interpret, and elevate choreographic material, strengthening her range as both a mover and a co-creator in dynamic artistic environments. In addition to her academic training, Katlyn attended intensives with FLOCK at Orsolina 28 in 2024 and Water Street Dance. She also had the opportunity to be part of a pre-show performance and discussion at The Center for the Arts, further engaging with the audience and community dialogue through dance. As a dance educator, Katlyn specializes in jazz technique, improvisation, and contemporary forms that blur the lines between competition and concert dance. She fosters curiosity, individuality, and performance quality across styles. As a choreographer, Katlyn has created two original works, drawing from her performance experience and collaborative research. She approaches choreography with the same curiosity and responsiveness that guide her performance practice. Katlyn joined Gin Dance Company in May, 2025.
