Meet Victoria Ortiz

Victoria is a DMV/New York-based dancer, performer, and educator. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, she earned her B.F.A. from George Mason University’s School of Dance, studying under esteemed faculty members Susan Shields and Roger Jeffrey. During her time at GMU, she was honored with scholarship and opportunities to be part of residencies with Christopher D’Amboise, as well as in works by Christina Robson and Lawrence Jackson. She also choreographed and performed her original works Escape and Resilience at the Harris Theatre in Fairfax, Virginia.

Victoria began dancing at a young age and trained at various performing arts schools including Bronx Charter School for the Arts, Bronx Dance Academy, and Talent Unlimited High School in Manhattan. During high school, she deepened her versatility through rigorous training with Ballet Hispánico, where she studied with Cecilia Cereras, Caridad Martinez, Rodney Hamilton, Michelle Manzanales, Nicole Duffy, Amelia Bernand, and Ana Lourdes Novoa. She was also a three-time Nuestro Futuro Full-Scholarship recipient and served as an intern, teacher assistant, and dance teacher.

She has performed at notable venues including the Apollo Theater, The Martha Graham School, Viacom, and Ballet Hispánico’s Carnaval Gala at The Plaza Hotel, where she met and honored Latin music legends Emilio and Gloria Estefan.

In addition to her performance career, Victoria is passionate about marketing, community engagement, and teaching, aiming to inspire the next generation through the arts. Victoria joined Gin Dance Company in February, 2025.
