GDC at Barnes & Noble Bookfair Community Outreach!

Gin Dance Company (GDC) was performing and having behind the scenes open discussions with the Artists and Artistic Director/Choreographer Shu-Chen Cuff from 11:00-4:00 p.m. on October 20. We also had story times with children. We thank you Barnes & Noble for giving us the opportunity to reach out to the community and the generous donation of a portion of all sales. If you didn’t make it to our Barnes & Noble Bookfair this past weekend… No problem. You can still support GDC by shopping at Barnes & Noble in store or online anywhere in U.S. for the next 4 days. Just give GDC’s bookfair ID # 10855583 to the cashier when you check out at the register. For purchase online, on the payment page, scroll to the very bottom and choose “Check this box if it is a Bookfair Order” and enter GDC’s bookfair ID #. If you signed in to your BN.COM account, you may need to click “Change” on the payment section on the checkout page and then scroll to bottom. Barnes & Noble will generously donate a portion of all sales (including purchases at the Cafe’) made to help GDC fund future Performing Arts productions. There are so many wonderful things to help you to get a head start on your Holiday Shopping!

GDC Performing at American Diabetes Association’s “Step Out – Walk to Stop Diabetes” October 20!!

Gin Dance Company (GDC) will be the featured performing dance company at the ADA event,‘Step Out – Walk to Stop Diabetes’. GDC, through performances and discussions, will help the ADA reach out and educate the audience on different ways to get active (like dance!) to reduce the incidences of obesity and diabetes. GDC is very proud and excited to be helping with such a great cause.

GDC dancer Lindsay Benson Garrett will be doing a book signing for a fabulous Meals on Wheels’ cookbook called “Made with Love-Meals on Wheels Family Cookbook” at our Barnes & Noble bookfair at 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on October 20!! Yes, she is an amazing dancer and she is also a talented photographer. This book is full of great recipes and the whole book of beautiful photos were taken by Lindsay. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet her and get her autographed book. We’ll be Performing at Fairfax County Dance Coalition – A Celebration of Dance!!

We are very excited to be performing a section of ‘The Core’ at Fairfax County Dance Coalition Annual Gala performance – “A Celebration of Dance”!! We will be sharing the stage with eleven other wonderful dance groups which have been greatly contributing to the performing arts throughout the DC Metro area. Happy 6th Birthday, Marshmallow!!

Marshmallow, GDC company dog came into our life on December 16, 2006. She has brought us so much fun and joy. Today, September 29, 2012 is Marshmallow’s 6th Birthday. We wish her a happy happy day. We LOVE you so much, Marshmallow!!
