It’s been a very busy and exciting spring season at GDC… We’ve completed some wonderful performances including our full production ‘Hear Me Now!’ at the Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival, ‘Motion in String’ at the Taiwan Night 2015 Concert at Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center, ‘Unchain’, ‘Just One’ and more at the Artists-in-Residence Showcase at the Fredgren Studio Theater, and ‘That’s Mozart’ at the BalletNova Spring Concert. In addition to these great events, we premiered our new work ‘Six Degrees’ at the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival. This fall we are thrilled to be part of the Reston CenterStage 2015 – 2016 Performing Arts Season and we’ll be presenting a full production of ‘Chasing Horizons’ on October 21, 2015!
The funds raised during our 7-7-7 Campaign will help us cover the cost of our exciting 2015 calendar of productions and keep our artists working and creating to bring excellence in performing arts to the community. You can help us achieve our goal of raising the needed funds with your tax deductible contribution.

Great thanks to the Incredible Dillard Sisters for all they do to make this evening possible.
We had a wonderful time performing ‘Motion in String’ at The 2015 Remembrance Cabaret! This year the cabaret was happening on June 13 at Westfield High School Auditorium. We were excited to return to this special event and joined many other talented performers. It was always a great pleasure seeing everyone at this very special event especial The Samahas and Ashley and Phoebe who did an incredible job to make this evening possible.. It’s a FREE event! There were many delicious baked goods and fantastic silent auction items. Doors opened at 6pm for the bake sale and silent art auction and performance at 7 pm. We were so thrilled to join Angel Fund to celebrate the vibrant life of Reema Samaha through dance, music, art and comedy.
Proceeds from the Cabaret benefit the Angel Fund and the Reema J. Samaha Memorial Scholarships given to seniors at Westfield and Herndon High Schools.

Some great photos from our “Six Degrees” performances at the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival last weekend!
‘Six Degrees’ – Choreographed by Shu-Chen Cuff, Gin Dance Company as a featured performer at the 2015 Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival on May 16 & 17, 2015 which took place at the Reston Town Square Park in the Reston Town Center. This event commemorated Sculpturer Patrick Dougherty’s newest project at Reston Town Square Park. Just as the Dougherty sculpture is comprised of individual saplings intertwining with each other to give shape and form to an overall structure bringing a level of meaning and purpose that any one sapling could never have done on it’s own. Shu-Chen Cuff explores through her choreography of Six Degrees how we, as individuals, intertwine our lives with those around us, and they with those around them, and so on until we form a network that gives meaning, structure and purpose that any one individual could never have accomplished on their own. Shu-Chen brought in her Gin Dance Company Dancers along with an extended cast. Check out the video: ‘Six Degrees’

It was so good to see Executive Director Anne Delaney at IPAR – Initiative for Public Art—Reston and sculptor Mary Ann Mears (Her work “Reston Rondo” is installed at Hyatt Park)
What an amazing weekend performing at the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival!! This nationally top-ranked fine art and craft festival is bringing 200+ artists selected from across the nation. ‘Six Degrees’ – Choreographed by Shu-Chen Cuff, Gin Dance Company as a featured performer at the 2015 Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival on May 16 & 17, 2015 which took place at the Reston Town Square Park in the Reston Town Center.
