From Taiwan to Miami… It’s a Small World…

That’s right!  It wouldn’t be a vacation for me without some time in the dance studio!  My high school classmate Xiao-xuan who I haven’t seen for 20 years since we graduated from Tsoying High School is now dancing with Fuzion Dance Artists.  Amazingly, the Artistic Director of the company Leymis Bolanos Wilmott and dancer Erin Fletcher were my college classmates at New World School of the Arts – University of Florida whom I also haven’t seen since we graduated from school.  People say dance  world is so small.  No kidding!  Who knew that my classmate from Taiwan would one day dance with my friend from college in Miami. Thank you so much for having me in company class and rehearsal, Fuzion Dance Artists (Sarasota, FL)!  What a special reunion with classmates from high school and college!!  Hope to see you all soon in the near future.

Check Out Another Review Featuring GDC

“The show began with Gin Dance Company’s The Core, an almost meditative piece full of preciseness and delicacy.  The five dancers, wrapped in white chiffon-like fabric, shifted in small individual sections of the stage. While they did not interact with one another physically, their repetitive phrasing and direct focus created a lovely connection throughout the piece…”   Check out another review of the ‘Yes! Dance Invitational’ featuring GDC.

Dance Review of the ‘Yes! Dance Invitational’ from the Richmond Times-Dispatch

Extra!! Extra!! Dance review of the ‘Yes! Dance Invitational’ from the Richmond Times-Dispatch!! ”

“Gin Dance Company, from Northern Virginia, featuring choreography by Shu-Chen Cuff set to music by Patrick Burke and R. Luke Dubois opened the show, immediately placing audience expectations high.

The sharp isolations and angles contrasted with smooth, long lines revealed intelligent and creative dance composition. The sporadic fidgets of the dancers were a welcomed surprise, and there was just enough unison and variation throughout the piece.

Shu-Chen Cuff’s beautiful facial expressions and detailed finger movements reminded the audience how lovely details can be.”
